1893: Carl Ditting, the founder of what is today Max Ditting AG, Zurich, lays the foundation stone for what is to become Zurich's finest Glass, Porcelain and Lifestyle store, known as CARL DITTING. 1920 -1970: Fine Porcelain, Tableware & Glass products manufactured by the premium companies of Europe, is integrated into the assortment of Carl Ditting. The segment for Glass & Porcelain grows considerably over the years & along with it the company's reputation as a first class store for Fine Dining products. 1971: Carl's grandson, Max Ditting takes over the reins of the family business. The store, known by it’s clientele, simply as DITTING, expands even further. Over 450 suppliers add to it's already varied and admired collections of Glass and Porcelain as well as Outdoor and Indoor furniture. 1997: Max Ditting's nephew, Dr.Urs Gruetter, having his own chain of textile & jewellery stores within Switzerland as well as in Germany & the USA, www.tucano.ch, takes over the reins of the family business. As a homage to his uncle's passion for Glass, Porcelain and fine products, the company is called MAX DITTING AG, which is currently its present name. 2007: Max Ditting AG transforms itself. From a large retail store selling to individual customers, it now re-introduces itself in 2 new roles. As an Exporter in the wholesale market, Max Ditting works hand in hand with Hotels & Companies as a Consultant and supplier of Fine Dining products. As a Collector and a Sponsor of exclusive and limited editions of Glass items, objects and artefacts, Max Ditting AG connects with pioneering Glass artistes to display their collections at the newly created DittingRaum at Rennweg 35. Present Day: Max Ditting AG continues to fulfil it's dream of promoting Glass artefacts and Objects of splendour to the Glass fraternity. MAX DITTING AG is based in Zurich, Switzerland, since 1893. |
